How long will it take to paint my home?

The timeline depends on the size and complexity of your project. For a whole house, it usually takes about 5-7 working days. Smaller jobs, like a single room, can often be completed in just a day.

Do you offer a warranty?

Absolutely! All our interior painting projects come with a 2-year warranty. If any issues pop up, we’ve got you covered.

Who will oversee my project?

Our experienced painters will manage your project, with our founder, Jared, keeping a close eye on everything to make sure it meets our high standards.

Do I need to prep the space beforehand?

We’ll handle most of the prep work for your indoor painting project. All we ask is that you move any small or fragile items out of the way. We’ll take care of the heavy lifting for larger furniture.

What Green Hills Homeowners Are Saying About Our Work

We’re proud of the work we do, but the best proof isn’t anything we say about ourselves. It’s what the people who’ve had us in their homes have to say. Read through the reviews below and get a genuine feel for who we are and how we work.

Yves Munger

Rated 5 out of 5

Jared and the New Direction team took on a complex and demanding job painting the whole interior of my home.

This include a cathedral ceiling in the living room, Killz everywhere to remove prior owner cigarette smoking scent, accent walls, etc.

They did an absolutely great job, with attention to detail and precision, on time and on budget. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5

I would highly recommend Jared and his team. I have used them on two occasions to paint the interior on two of my homes.

Great attention to detail. They went above and beyond my expectations. Easy to communicate with and they actually showed up when they said they would!

Very satisfied with both their work and their pricing. Will be using them again in the future.

What Does Interior Painting Cost in Green Hills, TN?

Based on past project estimates, interior painting in Green Hills typically runs between $5 and $7 per square foot.

That’s a range, not a fixed price, and the actual cost of your project depends on several factors specific to your home.

The best way to know what your project will cost is to reach out with the details. We’ll put together an accurate quote based on your actual space.

Five factors that affect the price:

Here are a few things that might impact your project’s cost:

Project Size: Bigger homes cost more, but it's not just square footage. A home with a lot of trim detail, wainscoting, or multiple ceiling heights takes more time and care than a straightforward open-plan space. We assess your specific layout before pricing anything.
Custom Home Complexity: Custom homes often feature architectural details that require extra attention and precision. Curved walls, coffered ceilings, built-ins, and other design elements take longer to paint properly.
Paint and Materials: There's a real difference between a budget paint and a premium one, and it shows on the wall. Higher-end paints offer better coverage, richer color, and longer durability. The materials you choose affect both the finished look and the cost.
Additional Services: Sometimes a fresh coat of paint reveals that a wall needs a little more love first. Minor drywall repairs, popcorn ceiling removal, and other prep work are sometimes necessary before we can paint.
Number of Rooms and Surfaces: Painting just the main living areas is a different job than doing the whole house, including hallways, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets. The scope of what you want done shapes the price considerably.

Honest Budgets and Timelines You Can Count On

We understand that handing your home over to a painting crew takes trust. Budgets and deadlines matter to you, so they matter to us.

A full interior paint job might sound like a big expense until you break it down. Refreshing the inside of your home at $5 to $7 per square foot means you’re spending something in the range of your annual streaming subscriptions per day to transform the place you spend most of your life. It’s the kind of investment that pays you back in ways that are hard to put a number on.

We work to five-day completion windows for full interiors, and we stick to them. When we’re done, we clean up properly and leave your space ready to use, not like a construction zone waiting to be sorted out. We respect your home and your time, and that shows from day one.

Common Questions About Interior Painting in Green Hills, TN

How long does a full interior paint job take?

For most homes, we work within a five-day window from start to finish. That timeline accounts for prep, painting, drying, and cleanup. Larger or more detailed homes may take a bit longer, and we’ll always give you an honest estimate upfront. The goal is to get in, do excellent work, and get out of your way so you can enjoy the results.

Do I need to move all my furniture before the painters arrive?

You don’t need to clear the whole house. We move and cover furniture as part of our process. If there are particularly large or delicate pieces, it helps to talk through those in advance, but for the most part, we handle the prep so you’re not doing the heavy lifting before we even get started.

What kind of paint finish should I use for different rooms?

It depends on the room and how it gets used. Kitchens and bathrooms do better with satin or semi-gloss finishes because they clean up easily. Living rooms and bedrooms tend to suit eggshell or matte finishes, which give a softer, more polished look. We’ll walk you through the options and help you choose one that suits both your taste and your lifestyle.

Is interior painting worth it before selling a home?

Almost always, yes. Fresh interior paint is one of the highest-return pre-sale improvements you can make. It makes a home feel well-maintained, helps buyers picture themselves in the space, and often leads to quicker offers. Neutral, updated colors tend to perform best in the Green Hills market, and we can help you pick shades that appeal to a wide range of buyers.

Green Hills is one of Nashville’s most established and well-loved neighborhoods. Locals have long gathered at the Bluebird Cafe, the legendary songwriter’s venue tucked into a strip mall on Hillsboro Pike, and bookworms are equally devoted to Parnassus Books, the beloved independent bookstore co-founded by author Ann Patchett. The Mall at Green Hills anchors the neighborhood commercially, but it’s the residential character that keeps people here for decades.
